Ok, this drill winder is an accessory that all CSMers need in their studio. Did you mess up a sock and need to rewind? this is your tool. You can wind a whole 100g on it, but you will need to practice, because that’s not the easy way out. It can easily be done, but, like I said. YOU WILL NEED PRACTICE. The drill is not included, but you can swipe your partners cordless drill, chances are it will be a while before they notice. Until they figure out that you always have the battery charged and ready to use. Then, you might need a lock and key situation.

This drill winder was thoughtfully designed not to wallow out the center hole. Let’s face it, you can make one of these too, but for $10?

I was making socks yesterday and I used this tool three times. Yes, I am a seasoned pro, but I do make mistakes and this is down and dirty the fastest way to wind that bit of yarn back onto the cone.

The standard color is black and gray. if you would like a different color, please specify in comments.

ATTENTION! Please read the following carefully to avoid injury!

1. For adult use only!

2. Keep your fingers away from the belts when in use.

3. Do not use with an unsecured swift. If yarn is twisted or

caught in the swift, the swift could be pulled toward you and

your Sunfire Volt at a high speed.

4. Do not leave the machine unattended. When not in use,

please unplug the foot controller.

5. Use only when clamped securely to a strong heavy table.

The Sunfire cone winder was designed by Dave Huelster. He designed this cone winder in order for us to achieve the perfect cone. It is printed by Cristina Saldana and will ship directly from her (in order to keep the shipping costs at a minimum). The winder is 3D printed out of PETG, the kind that doesn't warp if you let it sit in sunlight.

The winder can be cranked manually or it can be powered by a cordless screwdriver. PLEASE NOTE: Do not power your winder with a cordless drill, even at a low speed, as it will RUIN your winder. I recommend the SKIL Cordless https://a.co/d/bFXx7aC from AMAZON. I tried an unbranded one and it didn't always go the direction I intended, thus unwinding the cone I already begun winding and made a mess. Also, you will need a 1/4" drive 5/8" socket

It takes about 4 minutes to wind a skein to a cone, so it is not a high speed operation. However, it is worth the time you invest in winding a proper cone to achieve success on a sock machine. Namely, making two socks that are the same size.

The standard color is black and gray, but you may choose a different color other than gray. Please put your color note in the comments section. If the color you pick is not available, I will contact you.

It takes about 3 weeks from the time of order to the time of shipping. These are printed and assembled one at a time to ensure that it is high quality.
