CSM Knitted Prosthetic Breast

NO ribber necessary!  This pattern is to knit a prosthetic breast for someone who has recently undergone surgery, so it is very important to make sure the yarn used will be pleasant against sensitive skin.  You will learn a way to make a toe up toe on this breast, then crank some rows and make a modified toe for closing.  It presents two ways to close so that you can choose which you like best.  These prostheses have been tested and approved by actual survivors.  Their comments were “it was much lighter and cooler than my silicone one” and ” I wore it all day and it was very comfortable, I get tired of the silicone one and have to take it out.”  It’s a great way to give back.

Jamie very kindly gifted me one of these knitted boobs a few years ago and it is indeed really comfortable! I normally wear a silicone & saline prosthesis, but I like to wear this one as a break sometimes especially on hot days. It’s an awesome pattern and I recommend it. Thanks, Jamie!
